Forged of the Earth, Tempered by the Sea
Some 300 km’s from Cape Town the R362 winds its way up the picturesque West Coast. Along this largely unspoiled coastline lies Doringbaai, home to a small but hardy fishing community and arguably the world’s only vineyard this close to the Atlantic Ocean. Welcome to Fryer’s Cove.
The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time, Fryer’s Cove and Jetty Restaurant want to reach out and keep you updated, and it will be business as usual.
We are part of a developing region and that means that it would be difficult for us and other businesses to be closed. In most cases they cannot afford to. The community of Doringbay relies on the businesses in their area and in most cases there is only one breadwinner in the family.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees, customers, partners, and community. We understand the challenges facing the healthcare system and we aim to support it in any way we can.
Our employees take seriously the cleanliness of our equipment and environment. We know that this is more important than ever. We are encouraging them to follow health authority’s recommended practices like frequent hand washing, social distancing, and staying home if they are feeling ill.
As always, thank you for being a customer and for your continued support as we manage through this challenging time together.
Special Note: 21 March is a public holiday and all winesales will stop at 13h00.
“We are proud to bring to you, our community heritage for producing world class wines which embody the unique characteristics of their humble beginnings. We hope you will enjoy our wines!”
